What is "Keystone STARS designation"?

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare has introduced an initiative that 1. rates the quality of child care programs and 2. provides assistance to child care programs to improve their quality. It is called the Keystone STARS Quality Improvement Initiative.

Participating child care programs are rated from "Start with STARS" to "STAR 4" (STAR 4 being the highest quality.) When you search for a PACCA member child care provider,  you can see their STARS designation if they have one.
