How to Apply

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) have restored public funding to the T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship Program effective July 1, 2016. Scholarships are available for upcoming semesters and retroactively for any semesters in the current fiscal year.

PACCA offers a variety of T.E.A.C.H. Scholarships to meet the needs of the early care and education workforce. See below for eligibility criteria and links to the T.E.A.C.H. brochure and applications.  Eligible applicants must:
  • work a minimum of 25-30 hours per week directly with children in a DHS-certified child care, Head Start or PreK Counts Program that participates in Keystone STARS;
  • make $19 or less an hour ($25 or less per hour for directors) and
  • be interested in pursuing coursework at a participating college (at least 9 credits per year) toward a degree or credential in early childhood education.

Other Considerations:
  • Scholarship awards are dependent upon availability of funds and priorities of funders;
  • Other eligibility criteria may apply and are subject to change without notice.
