For seven years, both child care and Head Start have been flat funded. The Administration has proposed no new funding for the Child Care & Development Block Grant, which would mean that 200,000 fewer children would have child care assistance in fiscal year 2009 than in fiscal year 2007.

Governor Rendell continues his commitment by providing more children with access to programs such as Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, Child Care Works.

Great news!  The Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) unanimously approved the final form child care facility regulations at a hearing held this morning.
